Do you need a smoke alarm or carbon monoxide detector for your home?

The Orlando Fire Department installs free smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors for city homeowners to keep our residents safe.

Step 1.Check your eligibility

  • You must be a City of Orlando homeowner. To check if you live in city limits, click here.  
  • You do not have any working smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors in your home.

Please note:

  • All requests are first-come, first-serve and are based upon availability
  • Due to the high-volume of requests we receive, it may take up to three (3) weeks to respond to your request

Step 2.Send us a request

Please make your request at least four (4) weeks in advance of your desired appointment date.

Keep in mind: We are only able to provide one smoke alarm or carbon monoxide detector per household.
