Saturday, July 4, 2026 4 p.m. - 49th Annual Fireworks at the Fountain at Lake Eola Park **8:45 – 9 p.m. - Mayor Media Window behind the Lake Eola Amphitheater ** Lake Eola Park, 195 North Rosalind Avenue Mayor Dyer will join City Commissioners, the Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Council and the community to gather at Lake Eola Park for the 49th Annual Fireworks at the Fountain, a special Semiquincentennial celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and spectators are encouraged to arrive early to find a great viewing spot and enjoy family-friendly activities and live entertainment. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from a variety of food vendors throughout the event, and the evening will conclude with a patriotic firework display, which will begin at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026 10:30 a.m.- Church Street Festival Street Project Groundbreaking 128 West Church Street (exterior of Cheyenne Saloon) Mayor Dyer will join District 5 City Commissioner Shan Rose, Downtown Development Board/Community Redevelopment Agency Executive Director David Barilla and community partners for a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of Phase I of the Church Street Festival Street Project. A key initiative of the Downtown Orlando (DTO) Action Plan, the multi-phase project will transform Church Street, from Garland Avenue to Magnolia Avenue, into a vibrant Festival Street that prioritizes pedestrians, enhances multimodal travel and supports local businesses. Phase I marks the first step in the corridor's redevelopment, with the full project expected to be completed by 2028, creating a more connected, people-first downtown. 2 p.m. - Orlando Utilities Commission Budget and Pricing Workshop and Board Meeting OUC, 100 West Anderson Street Mayor Dyer will attend the Orlando Utilities Commission Budget and Pricing Workshop and board meeting. Wednesday, July 8, 2026 9 a.m. - MetroPlan Orlando Board Meeting 250 South Orange Avenue, Suite 200 Mayor Dyer will attend the MetroPlan Orlando board meeting. Thursday, July 9, 2026 10:30 a.m. – LeRoy Hoequist Park New Playground Ribbon Cutting LeRoy Hoequist Park, 1450 South Alder Avenue Mayor Dyer and District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz will cut the ribbon to officially reopen the newly renovated LeRoy Hoequist Park playground. Improvements include an expanded play area with a variety of new equipment, shade sail structures and enhanced drainage to curb potential stagnant summer rainwater. The project is part of the city's ongoing investment in neighborhood parks and one of 11 park and playground improvements planned across Orlando over the next two years, reinforcing the city's commitment to creating vibrant, welcoming spaces where families and children can gather, play and stay active. ###
