Creole Citizens Police Academy

Participants of the Creole Citizens Academy are having a hands-on experience at OPD's Crime Scene lab.

This five-week course in Creole aims to foster relationships between the police department and the community in a classroom environment. The following topics will be covered in this year's citizen's academy:
  • Criminal Investigations
  • Crime Center Operations
  • Police Training Simulator Demo
  • Overview of Specialized Units like SWAT, Motors, and K-9
  • DUI investigations
  • And more

Classes begin on July 29, 2026 and will be held weekly every Wednesday evening from 6 - 9 p.m. at Orlando Police Headquarters, located at 1250 West South Street.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old to participate. Please be advised this is a free course, so seating is limited and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.
