Apply for a Dog-Friendly Dining Permit

Do you want to allow dogs in the outdoor areas of your restaurant?

Orlando restaurant owners who want to allow customers' dogs on their property must apply for a dog-friendly dining permit.

Online

Gather your materials

You will need to provide:

  • A diagram and description of the designated outdoor area that includes:
  •     Dimensions.
  •     Layout of tables, chairs and restaurant equipment.
  •     Entryways and exits.
  •     Fences and other barriers.
  •     Surrounding property lines, streets and sidewalks.
  • The days and hours that dogs will be permitted in the designated area.
  • Proof of insurance.
  • The business tax receipt number of the public food service establishment. If you do not have a business tax receipt, you can get one here.

Fill out an application

You will need to complete the application and upload the requested documents.

Complete the Application

We'll review your application

Our staff will send an email confirmation to you when we receive your application. Within five business days, we will send you a billing summary once we have processed your application. It will include payment instructions.

Pay your application fee

A $275 user fee established by City Council helps partially off-set the administrative and direct costs of processing an application. The application fee does not in any way ensure an applicant a favorable decision. All applications will be reviewed on the merits of the request alone.

Abide by conditions of the permit

After you receive your permit, you must post signs notifying customers that the outdoor area of the restaurant is a dog-friendly service area. The signs must also list the sanitary rules that customers and service personnel must follow. For complete regulations, see city code Sec. 58.899.
