You must pay a tax to operate any business within city limits. A business tax receipt is proof of payment and it is required before a business opens.

All businesses will be required to obtain a Certificate of Use in conjunction with a Business Tax Receipt. Certificates of Use will not be required for:

Within 10 business days, we will send you a billing summary once we have processed your application. It will include payment instructions for your business tax receipt and certificate of use (if applicable).
After payment, your business tax receipt and certificate of use (if applicable) will be mailed to you.

All business tax receipts expire September 30. Invoices are mailed or emailed (if opted) during the week of July 1. For information on renewals and declarations, click here.
