Air Release Valve Rehabilitation The City's Public Works Department will oversee the rehabilitation or replacement for air release valves in multiple locations. This sanitary sewer project will lessen opportunities for future problems.
2021 ADA Transition Plan Update The city’s Public Works Department and Transportation Department are working in conjunction with a consultant to update the city’s ADA Transition Plan.
Brick Street Rehabilitation Project - Harwood Street This initiative is a component of the city's Bricks Streets Restoration program. The comprehensive reconstruction of the brick street encompasses a new roadway base on Harwood Street, between North Hyer Avenue and Highland Avenue. Additional project highlights include ADA-compliant curb ramps, the replacement of sanitary sewer lines, manholes, laterals, new water services, and fire hydrants.
East Pineloch Avenue Sanitary Sewer Removal & Replacement The City of Orlando and OUC’s contractor, Cathcart Construction Company, will begin construction of a sanitary sewer and OUC water improvements project south of East Pineloch Avenue on Delaney Street, Sylvan Avenue, and Center Street. This project will extend the city’s sanitary sewer system into the Pineloch neighborhood to provide sewer service to properties currently using septic systems.
Virginia Drive Study The City of Orlando is studying Virginia Drive, from North Orange Avenue to North Mills Avenue, to understand current right-of-way (ROW) constraints and design the ultimate cross section for the roadway, while implementing the vision of the Virginia Drive Special Plan, based on the Virginia /Lake Highland Transportation & Land Use Study.
Southwest Orlando Bike and Pedestrian Study This study will analyze safety and connectivity for people walking and biking in the Southwest Orlando area.
Colonialtown Phase II Drainage Improvements The City's Public Works Department received an HMGP grant for a drainage improvement project within the Colonialtown North neighborhood. The project limits are Oregon Street, between Shine Avenue and N. Fern Creek Avenue.
City Sidewalk Construction Soon, the City will make improvements to its pedestrian sidewalks. Improving sidewalk paths will allow constituents to easily transverse neighborhoods and communities while enhancing urban connectivity.
Sanitary Sewer Smoke Testing Smoke testing allows the Water Reclamation Division to pinpoint sanitary sewer deficiencies within the public right-of-way. It also presents an opportunity to locate cross and unauthorized connections to the City's sanitary sewer system.
Lift Station Six Modernization Project The modernization of Lift Station Six will improve the neighborhood's aesthetics, strengthen backup systems and emergency redundancies, and increase wastewater collection efficiency.
Proactive City Surveying The city’s Surveying and Engineering Division periodically conducts field surveys to correctly map topography, flood plains, delineate public right-of-way, and inventory public utilities.
City Wide Asphalt Rejuvenation The City of Orlando has identified roadways in your community needing remediation. Pavement Technology, Inc will commence a maltene replacement or asphalt rejuvenation.
Delaney Avenue Improvements The Delaney Avenue improvement project covers one mile from Briercliff Drive to Michigan Street and is divided into four phases: Briercliff Drive to Miller Street, Miller Street to Kaley Street, Kaley Street to Grant Street, and Grant Drive to Michigan Street. It includes upgrades like a new water system, sewer system, selected stormwater enhancements, and wider east-side sidewalks where feasible.
Lift Station 2 Force Main Improvements Project Parts A, B, and C The city is proactively and systematically taking steps to improve the sanitary sewer services it provides. The city is committed to reliable and efficient service for our constituents. To maintain that commitment, Public Works will oversee the complete improvement of Lift Station - 2 Force Main.
Robinson Street Sanitary Sewer Improvements This initiative involves enhancing the sanitary sewer system along East Robinson Street. The primary objective is to conduct necessary repairs on sanitary sewer mainlines and sewer service laterals in the East Robinson Street area spanning from North Garland Avenue to North Crystal Lake Drive.
Lake Olive Drainwell Replacement Project The Public Works Department will hire a specialty contractor to construct a new drainwell structure to replace the existing one for Lake Olive.
Summerlin Avenue Improvement Project - Phase I The Summerlin Avenue Improvement Project is a collaborative effort between the City of Orlando and the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) to enhance our community's infrastructure. Triggered by two water main breaks in 2018, this transformative project encompasses various utility upgrades, including enhancements to OUC's potable water system and the City's sanitary sewer and stormwater systems.
FORWARD Orlando Funded through the 2023 USDOT Safe Streets and Roads for All grant, FORWARD Orlando will transform high-need areas for pedestrian safety into dynamic living labs for safety countermeasures, quick-build and demonstration activities.
East Muriel Street Sanitary Sewer Replacement The City of Orlando and its contractor will upgrade the current sanitary sewer system and reconstruct the existing roadway. The project area is on East Muriel Street from Orange Avenue to Delaney Avenue.
