West Colonial Drive Corridor Study

The purpose of this study is to encourage redevelopment along the corridor that is compatible with adjacent neighborhoods. The corridor includes several blocks with plentiful street trees and a number of successful office buildings. Retail spaces face more challenges, and there are a number of vacant lots. With the success of Creative Village and completion of nearby I-4 construction, this area may be a prime target for redevelopment in coming years. The city wants to ensure that new development is compatible with existing areas and complements the rich historic character of nearby neighborhoods including Lake Dot, Rock Lake, Spring Lake and College Park.
