Samantha Garcia - Boone High School
Samantha is a driven young woman who emulates King’s legacy by volunteerism in her community. She envisions a time when King’s dream of equality for all is achieved through living the belief that “hate is too great a burden to bear.”
She has accumulated 121 high school community service hours at Second Harvest Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House, and by participating in food drives. She is a leader on her school’s award-winning yearbook staff and Key Club.
She is dedicated to her studies in Advanced Placement and honor classes, achieving membership in the National Honor Society. Samantha’s favorite Martin Luther King, Jr. quote is “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
Future Goals: Samantha has a passion for journalism. Her college options include UCF, Florida State University, Hawaii Pacific University, and Flagler College.
