Second Place: The Silver Song by Kristen Nicole Gallo
The tall trees loom above.
Sparse silver branches
trace the frosted sky.
Their icy breath,
but a whisp in the cold crisp air.
Longing to be remembered,
wishing to be forgotten,
the countless silver trees sing their winter song.
Susan’s Thoughts
A simple yet sensory poem that makes one feel the chill of winter nights and see the unique beauty of bare trees.
