It’s still magic, our ascent into the skies –

a child’s vision of rising above the sidewalk where she leaps with a red towel tied

at her neck, lungs filled with ambition

and courage, heart racing with the joy

of possibilities, of places, of people –

she defies the limits, embraces the power, and we are challenged to soar.
