Responding with Love and Compassion

Following the Pulse tragedy, we were overwhelmed with the love and support extended from other cities. Since then we have started sending our Orlando flag signed by staff to other cities attacked by violence and hate.

Today, as we send this flag to Charlottesville I am reminded of how in the face of hate, our community responded by uniting together with love, compassion and acceptance. As our country continues to face racism and combat prejudice, I know that our community will not respond with hatred and violence.

Instead we'll continue to show what love and compassion look like.
