RISE Employment & Training Program

Are you?

• Unemployed or underemployed?
• Dislocated from your previous job?
• Starting or changing careers?
• Not planning to attend college?
• Facing re-entry challenges after involvement with the justice system?
• A City of Orlando resident aged 18 or older?
• In possession of a valid Florida ID or Driver’s License?

Do You Need Help With:

•  Job readiness coaching?
•  Skills-based training? (only through CareerSource Central Florida Eligible Training Providers)
• Tuition funding referrals?
•  Industry-specific job search support?
•  One-on-one coaching for soft skills like resume writing, interview prep, or computer basics?
•  Access to a computer room?
•  Social service referrals for ID, food, housing, childcare, clothing, transportation, or health (medical and mental)?

City of Orlando residents who successfully complete a skills-based job training program through an eligible provider may receive a lump-sum stipend of $125 per week (up to 8 weeks, maximum of $1,000).

Many participants qualify for tuition-free training through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other funding sources. These funds are administered by CareerSource Central Florida, which works closely with RISE staff and training providers to support your goals.

Note: RISE does not directly pay for tuition. However, CareerSource Central Florida and some training providers (e.g., Valencia College) may offer scholarships or tuition assistance.
