RISE Employment & Training Program

Rapid Increase of Skills & Employment

The RISE Employment & Job Training Program is a City of Orlando initiative designed to ensure that residents impacted by COVID-19 have equitable access to skills-based training, employment opportunities, and supportive services that increase their employability and long-term success.  As well, we provide a training stipend, wraparound services such as case management and social service referrals to help participants thrive in their new careers.

Through personalized, by-appointment, in-person assistance, RISE connects Orlando residents (ages 18 and older) with:

  • Skills-based job training referrals to eligible training providers through CareerSource Central Florida partnership.  In some cases, training providers may offer tuition assistance, career counseling and/or job placement assistance.
  • Training stipend payment (payable upon successful completion of training).
  • Job placement support.
  • Social Services needs assessment and referrals made to appropriate community-based organizations.

Tuition Assistance

Many participants qualify for tuition-free training through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other funding sources. These funds are administered by CareerSource Central Florida, which works closely with RISE staff and training providers to support your goals.

Note: RISE does not directly pay for tuition. However, CareerSource Central Florida and some training providers (e.g., Valencia College) may offer scholarships or tuition assistance.
