Do you need to register a contractor?

Contractors getting permits for work in the City of Orlando must be registered with the Permitting Services Division.

Online

Gather your information

State-certified contractors need:

  • A current business tax receipt from the Florida city or county where their business is located.
  • A copy of their state certification from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
  • Current proof of workers’ compensation insurance or exemption.

State-registered contractors also need:

  • An original surety bond or continuation certificate.

After submitting the form, expect a response from us within two business days.

Email us your updated information

To keep your registration current, email a copy of your updated contractor's license, business tax receipt, workers compensation or exempt, and/or contractor's bond to permittingservices@orlando.gov.

If we do not have your updated documents on file, you will be unable to schedule inspections or move forward with your permit.
