9:30 a.m. - Orlando Family Stage Centennial Leaders Ceremony 

Orlando Family Stage, 1001 East Princeton Street 

Mayor Dyer will join City Commissioners to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of Orlando Family Stage with the many leaders who have helped its growth throughout the year. Mayor Dyer will help highlight the family programming offered, the partnership through the City of Orlando's Mayor's Matching Grant Program over the years and proclaim February 3, 2026, as “Orlando Family Stage 100th Anniversary Day” in the City of Orlando. 

11 a.m. - 40th Annual Crime Prevention Awards Ceremony 
Orlando Police Department Headquarters, 1250 West South Street 

Mayor Dyer will join City Commissioners, Orlando Police Chief Eric D. Smith and community leaders to honor Neighborhood Watch Block Captains and Watch Groups at the Orlando Police Department’s 40th Annual Crime Prevention Awards Ceremony. The Neighborhood Watch Group of the Year will be announced during the event, which celebrates Neighborhood Watch volunteers and their efforts to work with officers to create a safer community. 

5 p.m. -  City of Orlando’s Black History Month Art Exhibition Opening Reception   
Orlando City Hall, Terrace Gallery, 1st Floor   

Mayor Dyer, District 5 City Commissioner Shan Rose, District 6 City Commissioner Bakari F. Burns, and the Orlando City Council invite the community to attend the Opening Reception of the City of Orlando’s Black History Month Art Exhibition. On display from February 3 through March 31, this year’s exhibition showcases 52 works by 28 local visual artists, inspired by the 2026 national Black History Month theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations.” The exhibition honors the lasting impact of Black experiences while reflecting Orlando’s continued commitment to fairness, belonging, and cultural representation.

10:30 a.m. - Gilbert McQueen Park History Sign Unveiling 

650 West Lake Mann Drive 

Mayor Dyer will join District 5 City Commissioner Shan Rose, District 6 City Commissioner Bakari F. Burns, and community members to unveil a historic sign honoring Gilbert McQueen at the park that bears his name. A graduate of Jones High School, McQueen served in the 24th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division and was the first African American from Orlando killed in combat during the Korean War. Celebrated during Black History Month, the dedication recognizes and honors his enduring legacy of service, sacrifice and community leadership.
