Saki Anandani - Dr. Phillips High School

Saki Anandani embodies Dr. King's legacy through her unwavering commitment to treat others equally with empathy, and respect. She accomplishes these tasks through active community engagement, and closely listening to others when they speak, while being very careful not to cut them off.

As a dedicated member, speech captain, and leader of the Dr. Phillips Speech and Debate Team, Saki has cultivated the ability to more effectively communicate and help others recognize the power of words and its impact on meaningful dialogue. These are ever present and essential skills needed for achieving equality, justice, and peace. Saki is a regular on the Principal’s Honor Roll and her leadership roles reflect her passion for mentoring novices and fostering an inclusive environment for intellectual growth.

Beyond the classroom, Saki takes pride in her volunteer work at Orlando Health's PCU Nursing Unit, where she supported nurses and enhanced patient care. She also dedicated time to a local summer sports camp, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship among children. Through these amazing and challenging experiences, Saki demonstrates that humanitarianism is not a single act but a continuous and monumental effort to listen, learn, and serve. Her actions exemplify Dr. King's vision of empathy and respect as cornerstones of a just society.
