Celebrate a Century and a Half of Orlando

In 2025, the City of Orlando celebrated its 150th anniversary.

From its humble beginnings as a small frontier town in 1875, Orlando has grown into a vibrant and diverse community.

With over 300,000 residents calling Orlando home, our community offers something for everyone, including arts, culture, sports, outdoor amenities, thriving businesses small and big and a food scene that is diverse and always growing.

To celebrate its 150th anniversary, the City of Orlando planned a year-long celebration filled with community events, historical exhibits and public art installations. Residents and visitors alike will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including volunteering, supporting local businesses and exploring the city's rich history.

As the city commemorated this historic anniversary, people were invited to join in celebrating the past, present and future of the beloved city.
