Ashley May - Apopka High School

Ashley May

Ashley is an exceptional student whose character, leadership and dedication can be seen through all aspects of her intense personal involvement. She is an honor student and has been a first chair cellist for four years in our school orchestra. Her community service excels through her mast number of community service hours in Beta Club, National Honor Society, and US Hunger.

Ashley thoroughly enjoys planning food and need based drives, making care packages for the military, and writing letters for the elderly in the Multicultural Leadership Scholars program, which promotes cultural awareness and diversity. She has also participated in toy drives, taught students about financial literacy and mental health awareness, and volunteers in our after school programs.

Ashley, her immediate family, and the entire Apopka High family look up to her in high esteem because we have observed her grow as a leader and as a perfect model of Dr. Martin Luther King’s life’s dreams and goals. Furthermore, Ashley’s professional dream of becoming a Developmental Psychologist is a perfect choice for her to develop and demonstrate her great compassion, integrity, and commitment to making positive changes in the lives of others as did Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. himself.
