Second Place: Covid Commute by Bret Thomas
The air is extra wet this morning.
Normally at this hour I'd be sitting in traffic, listening to interviews of people much smarter than me.
Now I'm the smartest person on my morning commute.
I should have worn shorter briefs for this bike ride.
Is that a stick up there or a snake?
Probably a good idea to turn around and cut this commute short.
I have a morning video conference meeting in forty minutes that I have to be half dressed for.
Susan’s Thoughts
"This poem speaks to the summer of ’20 in a different way, and the photograph reminds us we still have a beautiful world, if we will go out and meet it. Safely."
