Fifth Place: Half-Light by Sydnee Wong, age 16
A palette of colors paint the skies, as the evening
sun slowly dies.
Upon water’s surface the fading light gleams.
Softly, warmly, in the most brilliant of beams.
Will the light return? Perhaps it might.
Another light’s end, as day shifts to night.
The color once fading, now vanished, erased.
Departing the once vibrant canvas it graced.
