WHAT:
On Friday, January 23, 2026, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join City Commissioners, Orlando Fire Department leadership, firefighters and community members to welcome new leadership at the Swearing-In Ceremony for newly appointed Fire Chief Jason Revoldt. Following nearly 24 years of service, Chief Revoldt assumes command, continuing OFD’s proud legacy while leading the department into its next chapter of public service, emergency medical response, fire prevention and community safety.
Chief Revoldt has held numerous leadership and operational roles, including Arson/Bomb Commander, Deputy Chief of the Life Safety Bureau and Fire Marshal. He will become the first Orlando Fire Chief to also serve as a sworn law enforcement officer. During his service as a field officer, Revoldt received a Class IV Meritorious Award, one of OFD’s highest honors, after saving a near-drowning victim. As an arson investigator, he and his late K-9 partner, Nessie, solved numerous arson cases statewide and helped develop OFD’s Youth Fire Setters Program, which educates at-risk youth on the dangers of fire-setting. He also performs as a drummer in the Orlando Firefighters Pipes and Drums band.
As Deputy Chief of the Life Safety Bureau, Revoldt oversaw the construction of Fire Station 6, the development of temporary Fire Station 19, and the design of Fire Station 18, supporting strategic station placement for Orlando’s growing communities. He has also championed first responder health and safety, a focus he will continue as Fire Chief.
