City of Orlando to Launch Pilot Program to Test New Technology at Water Reclamation Facility

May 13, 2025 - Orlando, FL – The City of Orlando, made possible by a Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) grant and in partnership with 374Water, is launching a 90-day pilot program to test a treatment system for removing contaminants from wastewater.

This initiative will use supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) technology designed to break down harmful contaminants into carbon dioxide, water and minerals. The project, financed by CWSRF with funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is expected to provide valuable insights into future wastewater treatment practices nationwide.

About the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF):
Funded by the U.S. EPA, the CWSRF program provides financial assistance for water infrastructure projects across the U.S., helping communities improve wastewater systems and protect water quality.
