1 p.m. - City of Orlando Media Availability on June 12th Remembrance Events and Memorial Update

City Council Chambers, City Hall, 400 South Orange Avenue

Mayor Dyer will provide an update on ways our community will come together to show our collective spirit to honor and remember the 49 angels, their families, the survivors and all those impacted by the Pulse tragedy. Additionally, Dr. Larry Schooler will providean update on the process to develop a permanent memorial.

Media Information:
At the media availability, Mayor Dyer’s and Dr. Schooler’s remarks and question-and-answer session will be interpreted in Spanish.

Parking is available in the reserved metered spaces along South Orange Avenue and in the City Commons Parking Garage, orlando.gov/mediaparking.

8 a.m. - CommUNITY Rainbow Run

City Hall Plaza, 400 South Orange Avenue

Mayor Dyer will join the community for the 8th Annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run, presented by Orlando Health. More than just a 4.9k race, the event demonstrates the Orlando community's resilience and unwavering love in the wake of the Pulse tragedy. Pulse Prayer Ribbons Display at City Hall

City Hall Plaza, 400 South Orange Avenue

The City of Orlando will again display prayer ribbons from Massachusetts-based artist Jay Critchley that honor the 49 victims of the Pulse tragedy. The ribbons will be on display in front of City Hall starting Monday, June 10 until Sunday, June 16.

Wednesday, June 12, 2024
4 p.m. - Ringing of the 49 Bells Ceremony

First United Methodist Church of Orlando, 142 East Jackson Street

Mayor Dyerwill join victims’ families and survivors and for the ringing of the 49 bells to honor the 49 angels.

7 p.m. - Pulse Remembrance Ceremony
Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, 445 South Magnolia Avenue

Mayor Dyerwill join City Commissioners, victim’s families, survivors, first responders and the community for the annual Pulse Remembrance Ceremony.

Media Information:
For both the Ringing of the 49 Bells Ceremony and the Pulse Remembrance Ceremony on June 12, media parking will be available along South Magnolia Avenue in front of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts as the road will be closed. Media must show credentials to parking attendants.

Out of respect for the victims’ families and survivors, we ask that any interviews be conducted outside of any venue space, to include the church and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Remembrance Day Blood Drive
8 a.m. – 1 p.m., outside Orlando City Hall
3 – 8 p.m., outside the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts


OneBlood will accept blood donations in downtown Orlando on June 12, 2024. Participants can reserve donation times via OneBlood’s website at oneblood.org.
