WHAT: On Saturday, June 17, 2023, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, District 5 City Commissioner Regina I. Hill and District 6 City Commissioner Bakari F. Burns invite the entire community to the second annual Juneteenth Celebration at Clear Lake Park. Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States on June 19th, 1865, and provides an opportunity to celebrate civil rights progress, recognize the injustices Black Americans have endured and continue the collective work to uplift and create a more inclusive city. This annual event is part of the City of Orlando’s continued efforts to create a more equitable, welcoming community and ensure that all residents are equally protected and have equitable access to opportunities that help them thrive. At the festival, the community can enjoy free, fun activities for the entire family including live music, food and entertainment, as well as a kid's zone and vendor village. This event is made possible by the City of Orlando's Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Juneteenth Planning Committee. For more information, please visit orlando.gov/juneteenth.
