WEEKEND WATCH: Transportation Advice for Visitors to Downtown Orlando, March 12, 2022
WHAT: As downtown Orlando continues to be the place for Central Florida to gather and create unique experiences, the city is committed to helping visitors and residents easily get to the area, find parking, enjoy the atmosphere and travel safely.
Visitors should be mindful that road closures in the downtown area change periodically based on event needs and other related development in the area.
On March 12, in addition to downtown's regular active and vibrant scene, several large-scale events are planned and additional road closures will be implemented related to these. Large-scale events include:
The Celtic Tenors
C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce
Black Panther Movie Night
Orlando City Soccer Match
André Rieu and His Johann Strauss Orchestra
Billy Joel
Event attendees are encouraged to plan their routes and parking ahead of time and to give themselves enough time to anticipate any unforeseen delays. Alternate forms of transportation, such as LYMMO, scooter and bike share, can assist patrons in getting to their end location. Additionally, attendees heading to Camping World Stadium will have the option to take a free shuttle to the stadium.
For more information on parking, shuttle routes, a road closure map, and event listings, please visit orlando.gov/weekendwatch.
PARKING TIPS: Patrons traveling in vehicles to downtown should consider planning their travel routes based on where they will park and use the parking location address to navigate.
Most parking garages in downtown Orlando are a short walk from entertainment locations and will allow patrons to enter and exit quicker than those in close proximity to venues.
ROAD CLOSURES: Detour signs will be clearly posted before and along detour routes. For the road closure map, click here.
INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES: For interview opportunities about upcoming events or road closures, please contact Samantha Holsten, City of Orlando Public Information Officer at Samantha.Holsten@orlando.gov.
