Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Appoints New Transportation Director for the City of Orlando
February 22, 2021 – ORLANDO, FL – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has appointed Tanya J. Wilder as the Transportation Director for the City of Orlando.
“Having served as the city’s Transportation Policy Advisor since 2016, Tanya’s knowledge of transportation initiatives and expertise in working with local transit and government agencies will be instrumental toward achieving the city’s goals of reimagining and reinventing our transportation network to ensure equitable access for all by expanding multimodal choices for residents, workers and visitors,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “I look forward to working with Tanya in her new role with the City.”
Born and raised in Orlando, Wilder started her career with the City of Orlando in 2013 as Business Development Division Manager, demonstrating her dedication to facilitating economic growth and business retention throughout the city’s small business communities and Main Street Districts. In 2014, she shifted to Transportation Planning Division Manager, where she oversaw growth management planning, development review, impact fee administration and multimodal planning and coordination.
“Orlando's transportation network is the key to our economic growth and quality of life,” said Tanya Wilder, City of Orlando Transportation Director. “As the City prioritizes ways to connect our growing population, it's an exciting time to lead innovative projects in one of the most forward-thinking regions in the country."
This appointment went into effect today, February 22, 2021 after Council confirmation.
