Apply to Become an Orlando Police Explorer

Step 1.Check your eligibility

To become a Police Explorer, you must:

• Be 14 to 20 years of age
• Be in high school or college
• Be of good moral character
• Have no criminal history
• Maintain a 2.0 or higher GPA

Step 2.Gather your materials

To apply, you will need:

• Two or three personal references, including their phone numbers, home and email addresses. You cannot use a relative as a reference. Teachers, counselors, coaches and employers are good people to ask for a reference.
• A scan or clear photograph of your current transcript or report card
• Your parent or guardian available to sign your application if you are under 18
• Your health insurance information
• A three to five paragraph essay that explains what you plan to get from the Orlando Police Explorer Program and your long-term career goals.
