Report a Non-Violent Crime

Step 1.Check your eligibility

If you know who committed the crime: Please call the non-emergency line at 321.235.5300 to have an officer dispatched to you to take the report. We cannot take reports online if you have a subject.

To report a traffic crash: You can report a traffic crash online with the FLHSMV or call FHP at 407.737.2300.

To report identity theft or fraud: You can report identity theft or fraud online or leave a message for the fraud team at 407.246.4012.

You can report a non-violent crime online if:

• This incident occurred within Orlando city limits. If you are outside Orlando city limits, please file a report with your local police or sheriff's department.
• You do not know who committed the crime.
• The property lost or stolen does not include a firearm of any type.

You can report these crimes online:

• Theft
• Vehicle burglary or break-In
• Vandalism
• Harassing phone call with an unknown caller
• Lost property

Most property crime cases lack physical evidence or fingerprints. To use law enforcement resources efficiently, officers will not visit your location to collect evidence or fingerprints for reports submitted through this service.

Step 2.Gather your information

Collect as much information as possible about your stolen property, including model numbers, serial numbers or any other way to identify your property.

We will ask for more information about you, your property and what happened.

Step 3.We'll get back to you

You will receive a tracking number immediately after you submit your report. After we review and approve your report, we will provide you with a case number and a PDF copy that you can print for your records.

Note: Please check your “spam” or “junk” folder if you have not received an email response.

If you need to update your case with new information, call us at 407.246.2470. Please have your case number ready when you call.

Call 407.246.2470 to report a non-violent crime or if you need to update your existing case.

We're open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you need to add new information to your report, please have your case number ready when you call.

Step 4.Request a report for your records

To obtain a copy of your report, please wait 5-7 business days after receiving your case number, then call the OPD Records Department at 407.246.2406 or email us at opdrecords@orlando.gov.
