Commissioner Tom Keen

Tom Keen was elected to the Orlando City Council, representing District 1, in 2025. As a Navy veteran with extensive experience in public service and military operations, he has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to community engagement and leadership. Tom is married to Laura Keen, and they reside in the Orlando neighborhood of Lake Nona. They are proud parents of two adult children.

Commissioner Keen champions strategic, citizen-focused development, ensuring that Orlando’s rapid expansion enhances quality of life without sidelining working families and small businesses. This includes his advocacy for lowering property insurance costs and restoring reproductive rights for his constituents. He continues to focus on solving key traffic and transportation issues that impact residents, including the expansion of multi-modal transportation options across District 1.

Beyond his role on City Council, Tom serves as Treasurer on the Friends of Fisher House Orlando Board of Directors, supporting initiatives that assist military families during times of need. His previous service includes positions on the City of Orlando Citizens’ Police Review Board and the Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Council, reflecting his dedication to transparency and active participation in civic and community affairs.

Commissioner Keen’s vision for Orlando is one of inclusive, sustainable progress, which drives growth that supports great jobs, thriving neighborhoods and a high quality of life for all residents.
