In observance of Juneteenth, City Hall and non-essential city services are closed Friday, June 19, 2026. Residential recycling pick-up will occur as usual.
The City of Orlando has 3 apiaries across the city at Fire Station 1, Fire Station 2, and the McQuigg Farm housing a total of 10 beehives. Our Apiary Education Program teaches people of all ages about the science and art of beekeeping with hands on learning and instruction. More than 10 students from the Englewood Kids Zone and more than 20 from the Black Bee Honey youth employment program have successfully graduated from our beekeeping course. We have worked to keep our hives healthy and open for public education while improving pollinators' habitats across the city by planting pollinator gardens.
