District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan Celebrates 24th Annual Wheels for Kids Bike/Scooter Giveaway Brings Christmas Early to Reeves Terrace Children

WHAT:
On Monday, December 22, 2025, District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan will join Orlando firefighters, Orlando police officers, community partners and Santa Claus for the 24th annual Wheels for Kids holiday giveaway of nearly 130 kick scooters to select children, ages five to 15, who have been pre-identified and live in the Reeves Terrace neighborhood.

The annual event is part of the Wheels for Kids program, started by Commissioner Sheehan in 2002 when students in Reeves Terrace no longer had a bus system to take them to school.

To date, the program has provided more than 2,200 bicycles and scooters through the help of generous community supporters.

This year’s kick scooters were made possible thanks to donations from Baker Barrios Architects, Brasfield & Gorrie, GAI Consultants Inc., Ustler Group of Companies and Workscapes Inc.
