Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 5 Commissioner Regina I. Hill Kickoff the City of Orlando Baseball Program for the U.S Conference of Mayors Play Ball Initiative
WHAT:
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will throw the ceremonial first pitch to kick off the city’s 2021 youth baseball program and join District 5 Commissioner Regina I. Hill and local youths program at the John H. Jackson Neighborhood Center, as part of the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) Play Ball initiative.
The national initiative is aimed to encourage the participation of children who don’t normally play the game of baseball and also to strengthen the connection with those who are currently involved in the game. At the event, the youth will also take part in a skills and drills competition, learn the basics of baseball and conclude with playing a full game.
