Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz Host 15th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Event
WHAT:
On October 12, 2021, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz will host the 15th annual City of Orlando's Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration event to celebrate the Hispanic/Latino culture and contributions to the local community and nation.
The theme of this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month is “Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope.” This theme invites residents to celebrate the community’s diversity and reflect on how great residents can make the future through resilience and hope.
The event will feature remarks from Mayor Dyer and Commissioner Ortiz, Latin food, music, and entertainment, as well as a special recognition of Dr. Raul Pino, Director of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County, for his contributions to the entire community during COVID-19 pandemic.
This Hispanic Heritage Month celebration reaffirms Orlando’s commitment to being a welcoming and inclusive city that celebrates the differences of its citizens. The city of Orlando is proud to dedicate this month to the rich and diverse Hispanic culture and heritage within the community.
