Redevelopment Opportunities Available in Mercy Drive Area
City of Orlando seeking proposals for redevelopment of two parcels
May 1, 2018 – ORLANDO, FL –The City of Orlando is currently seeking proposals for the redevelopment of two city-owned properties located in the Mercy Drive area into quality residential development. The two currently vacant sites were formerly known as Peppertree Shores and Peppertree Circle.
The vision for this development is for mixed-income housing communities that complement the surrounding neighborhoods and include housing to serve low to moderate income households and increases the inventory of permanent supportive housing in the city.
“The City of Orlando is committed to ensuring that every person, regardless of economic status, should have access to housing that is safe and affordable,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Redeveloping these two formerly blighted and currently vacant properties into vibrant new communities will provide additional housing inventory for our low to moderate income and currently homeless residents and also furthers our efforts to revitalize the Mercy Drive neighborhood.”
The city is seeking proposals from multi-family developers interested in redeveloping one or both of the parcels into quality housing communities. Proposals are due at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018.
