Become an Orlando Police Department Volunteer

Step 1.Check your eligibility

We run a background check on all potential volunteers. You are not eligible to volunteer if you:

• Have been convicted of a felony, or any offense considered a felony in Florida.
• Have used illegal drugs within the last year.
• Have sold marijuana or other illegal drugs within the last two years.
• Falsify your application or omit required information.

Some volunteer assignments may require additional screening. 

Step 2.Gather information

You will need information about your job history, education, skills, volunteer interests, and three character references.

Step 3.Complete and submit the application

Step 4.We will respond within two weeks

If you qualify, we will call you within two weeks for a brief phone interview.
