Monique Heelam - Boone High School

Monique is an exemplar of dedication, compassion, and advocacy for social justice. Her unwavering commitment to positive change in her community is truly inspiring. Monique’s determination and resourcefulness has enabled her to excel in her academic pursuits while maintaining an impressive portfolio of talents.  She passionately believes in equality and has channeled that belief into practical action. She not only identified a pressing issue, but also took the initiative to address it through the creation of Project Ad Astra. She has worked tirelessly to help students and inspire others to join her cause, demonstrating her leadership, and community-building skills.  Monique has been volunteering since she was ten for Giving Hearts which addresses needs of Peruvian children.
