Colin Poon - Apopka HS

Colin ascribes to the ideals that Dr. King fought for. Dr. King once said “darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Colin is the epitome of that statement. Colin is a champion for all students and for his Central Florida community. He has a positive impact on everyone he interacts with because he sees the positive qualities in everyone. Colin shows respect and honesty for others and believes in standing up for what is wrong. His greatest leadership quality is his integrity followed by his calming demeanor.  Colin is passionate about his Asian ancestry and works tirelessly in the community to ensure AAPI individuals are treated equally.

Future Goals:  Colin hopes to attend Georgetown University and become a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department, specializing in U.S. China relations, and work as a Public Diplomacy Officer to bridge the gaps between these two nations.
