2023 POW-MIA Recognition Ceremony

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and his Veterans Advisory Council will host an official POW-MIA ceremony to honor United States Military prisoners of war and those still missing in action on Friday, September 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, DeVos Family Room.

This year's keynote speaker, Shoshana Johnson, became America's first Black female prisoner of war in March 2003, when her battalion was ambushed in Iraq.
