Sydni Patrick - Horizon High School

Sydni Patrick embodies Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s values through her leadership, the way that she serves, and her compassion for others.

Sydni is a self-motivator with a drive for excellence. She understands how to balance her academics and yet remain active in varsity sports, along with her duties as a student athletic trainer, where she supports and encourages her peers. Syndi’s fearless and ambitious nature, help lead her to bravely enter the world of rowing with full ownership and purpose. She is also a leader, Vice President of the Horizon High School Debate Team, Vice President of the Black Student Union, and other school-based initiatives that promote inclusion, cultural awareness, and unity.

Sydni's kindness, concern for humanity, and perseverance inspire others to work hard, and treat everyone with respect, as she often ponders the philosophical question: “What are you doing for others?” Whether in the classroom, on the field, or through countless volunteer hours at Second Harvest Food Bank, or feeding the homeless, she leads by example and by uplifting others with empathy and intention. 

Sydni is committed to continuing her growth as a scholar and humanitarian, with plans to enter the medical field in order to help people stay healthy. Her dedication and positive influence on others make her an outstanding representative of Dr. King's enduring legacy and commitment, which ultimately impact and improve our communities and society.
