Apply for a Youth Climate Action Fund Grant

Step 1.Determine your eligibility 

These funds are available to teams of two to five young people aged 15-24. At least two of these people must live in Orlando.

We encourage projects to involve as many young people as possible. However, only five people can be recognized as youth leads.

Step 2.Come up with an idea 

We are looking for projects related to these topics: 

• Waste diversion and reduction 
• Water conservation and quality 
• Urban nature and nourishment 

Step 3.Find an organization to partner with 

Each team must partner with an eligible organization to receive funds. The organization must be a 501c3 or another youth-serving organization. Schools are always a great option and fully eligible as partners! 

If you need help finding an organization, you can still complete the application. Let us know in your application who you might like to work with. 

Step 4.Apply for a grant 

You’ll need the following to apply: 

• A project description 
• A proposed budget between $1,000-$5,000 
• Ideas for how to measure your project’s success 
• The names and ages of all the youth leads 

Apply for a Grant

There are some limits on what you can use the money for. It can't be used for anything related to diversity, equity or inclusion. You also can't use the money to support a net-zero energy policy. You can read more about these limits in the legal requirements.

Step 5.Share your application with your partner organization

After submitting your application, you will receive a PDF containing all your responses. You must share this document with your partner organization. They will use this information to join your project formally. You can send them this webpage to join the project.

You must partner with an organization to participate. We can only distribute funds to a partner organization.

Step 6.Complete the organization application

Partner organizations must complete a few forms with legal requirements about how the funds will be used. Youth leads should not complete these forms.

Partner organizations must do the Certification Regarding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion first. You must get this form notarized.

Join a Project as an Organization

Step 7.We'll review your application

We will review applications after the application closes on Friday, October 16, 2026. 

We will let you know our decision by Wednesday, November 4, 2026. 

Step 8.Do your project 

Organizations will start receiving funds by Friday, November 13, 2026. You can start your project then.  Your project must be completed by Thursday, April 15, 2027.

Collect data on the success measures you mentioned in your application. You should include this data in your project updates. You must submit project updates every month until Thursday, April 15, 2027. We will share more information about how these updates will work with the selected teams.
