Wreshad Pierre - Timber Creek High School

Wreshad Pierre

I am very pleased to recommend Wreshad Peirre for the MLK Humanitarian Award. As his College and Career Counselor for the past few years, I have watched this young man develop both academically and personally into a very mature individual ready in every way for the future.

Wreshad believes that service is not just about the task, but it also has to be about the heart. He focuses on the intent of uplifting others and ensures that inclusion, respect, and unity are at the forefront of every good deed. Wreshad is bright, energetic, compassionate and genuinely well rounded. His grades have been consistently above average with a 4.8 weighted GPA throughout his high school career, and he is ranked 122 in his class out of 850.

Wreshad actively participates in sports as a hurdler, along with upholding the leadership positions of Vice President, National Honor Society, President, Science National Honor Society, member, the Ebony Club, and volunteer lecturer regarding STEM adventures. Wreshad has been recognized and received commendations for his academic and sports accomplishments.

Mechanical Engineering is in Wreshad’s future, but he moves forward on the sound philosophy that: “people should take time to understand one another. We need to listen with patience, and try to see things from the other person’s perspective”.  Wreshad models Dr. King’s beliefs and has a strong christian base. He credits many of his decisions from his beliefs that also nurture his cunning ability, to bridge divides, heal conflicts, and build stronger, kinder communities.

Successfully managing all these activities during a school day speaks for his organization skills and for his phenomenal wisdom to complete a task close to perfection. Wreshad is truly a well rounded and outstanding student who candidly and sincerely parallels the profile of a Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian.
