Tasha Alceant - Jones High School

Ms. Alcenat is a young lady who is deeply committed to implementing the goals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., especially helping others, as well as maintaining high student achievement. Our school is incredibly fortunate to have Ms. Alcenat because she supports us through her academics, has exceptional character and strong beliefs in promoting respect and understanding, attentively listens to other’s perspectives without criticism, and she actively takes steps to fight against the overt and unfair treatment of others.

Tasha’s strong desire to help achieve world peace and respect throughout all of our daily lives makes her the perfect candidate and most deserving of this award. Additionally, she is dedicated to constantly improving her character and thrives on hardworking efforts to help others. It’s easy to see that her compassionate and helping nature will be pivotal in guiding her throughout her chosen career as a Registered Nurse. Her organizational skills are like no other and she continuously focuses on learning and developing best practices to manage her heavy course load both efficiently and effectively.

Tasha Alcenat brings a great attitude to Jones High School and genuinely cares about delivering excellent quality work. Tasha strives everyday to successfully integrate her academic goals as a high school student with her college aspirations. She will graduate with not only a High School Diploma but an Associate’s degree. She lives and breathes the  "GREAT” Jones High School motto; “it's all about respect, responsibility and accountability.” Having said that, remember at the Great Jones High School we are achieving excellence together.” 

Ms. Alcenat encompasses what it takes to not only be a great student, but also a superior leader to her peers. I highly recommend Tasha for the MLK Youth Humanitarian Award because she remains eminently motivated and positively engaged to make a difference, which together, identifies her as a true inspiration to both students and adults alike.
