Arnav Kumar Upadhyay - Freedom High School

Arnav exemplifies Dr. King’s legacy through his commitment to service, academic excellence, and leadership. His humanitarian spirit shines in his extensive volunteer work with Mu Alpha Theta, where he tutors peers in mathematics and helps them build confidence.

Arnav strongly believes that service isn’t just about giving time, but about creating opportunities, spreading kindness, and aiding in the development of a more unified community. Arnav is an active member of the Teen Advisory & Service Committee in Hunters Creek, which brings energy and organization to local events, particularly those seeking ways to support families and neighbors. His passion for technology led him to develop a Lost & Found app, now used at Freedom High School, streamlining the recovery of lost items for students and staff. Arnav is working hard to expand this problem solving solution to other Orange County schools, demonstrating his drive to create meaningful change.

As secretary of Mu Alpha Theta, the only freshman on the Programming Team, and a certified entrepreneur, Arnav’s interests in artificial intelligence, computer science and business has led him to pursuing a possible career as an AI Engineer. His fine distinctive qualities are matched by his dedication to helping others reach their potential.

His actions and character make him a true leader and an inspiration within his school community. This also supports Arnav’s belief that helping others is inspirational and motivates him to keep improving himself to use his newly acquired knowledge to make a positive change.
