Parking System Modernization Project

Beginning July 2026, we will begin a phased transition to cashless parking operations (both on- and off-street parking). The transition will continue through September 30, 2026, and the goal is to fully implement cashless operations by October 1, 2026. 

This modernization effort will include: 

• Removal of parking meters (in phases) 
• Updated parking signage 
• Changes to payment methods 
• Garage and facility conversions 
• New customer instructions at parking locations 

Paying for parking 

You will still have convenient digital payment options available during and after the transition. Once a location transitions to cashless operations, cash payments will no longer be accepted.  

For on-street parking, payment options include: 

• ParkMobile App
• Text to pay 
• Phone call

ParkMobile has been our on-street parking vendor since 2015. 

For garages and lots, payment options include: 

• Mobile payment options 
• Credit and debit card payments  
• Other approved digital payment methods 

Event parking operations may change as facilities transition. If you are attending an event, check parking information before arriving and follow posted instructions at the location.

On-Street Parking Info

Orlando currently operates more than 9,000 off-street and approximately 1,200 paid on-street parking spaces. This causes an imbalance in supply which we are seeking to correct through changes in overall parking regulations, citations and rates. 

As part of our efforts to improve curb access and turnover, give drivers more flexibility and provide cost-effective parking options, the next phase of this project will launch on October 1, 2026. 

NOTE: Effective October 1, there will be an adjustment to citation fees. All other changes will gradually implement throughout Q4 2026. All other changes and enforcement will be denoted with new signage at the affected locations providing clear direction on the new regulations and pay rates for that specific area or garage/lot. 

The following will be the new parking regulations: 

On-street parking: 

• New enforcement hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday
  • Parking will remain free 8 p.m to 8 a.m., on Sundays and on city-observed holidays
• Parking durations will be increased up to four to six hours, depending on location  
• Increased citation fees, while extending the late payment period from 14 days to 21 days 
• Progressive parking rates will be introduced
  • 1st hour: $2
  • 2nd hour: $2
  • 3rd hour: $3
  • 4th hour: $4
  • Additional hours continue increasing incrementally, up to a max of six hours

Garages and lots (off-street parking): 

• Proximity based pricing during event nights 
• Parking rate changes 
  • $2 per hour for first four hours 
  • $3 per hour after four hours 
  • $20 daily maximum 

Benefits from these changes 

• With more than 9,000 garage and lot spaces available, off‑street parking remains the most affordable long‑term option—especially during events. 
• Progressive on‑street pricing will help reduce overtime fines and give drivers more flexibility. 
• New enforcement hours and updated citation fees will help ensure fair curb access for all. 
• Proximity-based parking will help alleviate congestion and offer better parking options at less used parking facilities.
• Extended late period will result in fewer late fee charges to the patron.
