Maria Perez Tirado - Lake Buena Vista High School

Maria always strives to treat everyone respectfully and equally, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, or background. Understanding that diversity and inclusiveness brings people together, Maria volunteers in community-building events such as cultural events and park clean ups.  She has volunteered in Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations and volunteers at the Rosen JCC center as an intern helping teach young kids how to play basketball. Maria is a member of the JROTC Honor Guard, Minority Leadership Scholars, Latinos in Action, and the Spanish National Honor Society; all organizations which promote a spirit of service, justice, and respect. Maria is also an avid performer and writer of poetry; you can see her participating in local Youth Poetry Slam competitions.

Future Goals: Maria hopes to attend the University of Central Florida or University of South Florida to study Aerospace Engineering.
