Carlos Nunez Sosa

Carlos embodies so many of the qualities for which we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He cares deeply for his community, is a natural leader, inspiring others to follow, and is kind to all of humanity. Though he admits his roots are humble, Carlos is thankful for the sacrifices his parents have made to provide him and his sister with a better life. Carlos serves as the Battalion Commander for East River’s Army JROTC and is ranked in the top 10 of his class. He has amassed more than 500 hours serving his community, taken the lead in campus clean-ups, and was chosen for early entry into the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Future Goals: Carlos will attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
