Dehlice Ruggio - Evans High School
Dehlice believes the full impact of MLK’s legacy is to think it through before acting on it with an open mind. Her favorite quote is not one, but the entire stream of thought from a speech “What is Your Life Blueprint.” King states, “Be a bush if you can’t be a tree. If you can’t be a highway, just be a trail. If you can’t be a sun, be a star. For it isn’t by size that you win or fail. Be the best of whatever you are.”
Dehlice has logged 98 community service hours including working with the Blood Drive and as a student apprentice in child care and theater. Dehlice’s strength in leadership emanates from her smile. She has shown her strength in leadership of the Student Government and Thespian Troupe.
She is an alternate for the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. As a junior, she has been responsible for events and functions throughout the campus. She accepts all people and leads with compassion, acceptance and an "I can do this" attitude.
Future Goals: Dehlice wants to attend Columbia or UCF and become a political analyst or actress.
