The Mayor’s Matching Grant Program was implemented in 1994 to partner with neighborhood associationsschools and non-profit organizations to fund projects which address neighborhood needs, improve education and build community pride. 

The grant is awarded on a bi-annual basis. The grant deadlines are the last Friday in March and the last Friday in September. Grant terms start June 1 (for applications submitted by the March deadline) and January 1 (for applications submitted by the September deadline).

The City of Orlando plans to apply for the FY 2024 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program - Local Solicitation. The Orlando Police Department (OPD) is requesting $197,090.00 to purchase computer hardware, software, and equipment for its Digital Forensics Lab to conduct online and digital investigations and protective gear for the OPD HAZMAT Team when responding to calls for service that may include dangerous drugs, chemicals, or potential terror attacks.

The City of Orlando is accepting public comments relating to the grant application. Public comments can be accepted by email at frank.colaianni@orlando.gov, or by phone / voice mail at 407.246.2480 or by following these instructions to submit a public comment at the October 21, 2024 City Council meeting. Requests to speak must be submitted by 9 AM on October 21, 2024. Public comments regarding this grant application must be received by 5:00 PM on October 21, 2024.
