The City of Orlando is updating the land use vision plan for The Milk District, a neighborhood described as a “culture of subcultures” for its progressive spirit, vibrant music and arts scene, and diverse collection of locally owned businesses. The district is home to valuable community assets, including Orlando Skate Park, Orlando Festival Park, community gardens, iconic public art and murals, an eclectic dining scene, and a variety of recreational destinations. The neighborhood’s namesake business organization, The Milk District Main Street, in partnership with T.G. Lee Dairy, received the 2026 Florida Main Street Award from the Florida Secretary of State in recognition of its success in activating the district through community engagement.
The purpose of the land use vision plan project is to guide the thoughtful and strategic redevelopment of The Milk District while preserving and enhancing the distinctive character that defines the neighborhood. Through a collaborative planning process that incorporates meaningful public input, the City will develop a shared land use vision that supports future growth, strengthens economic vitality, and reinforces the district's creative, eclectic, and youthful identity while reflecting the aspirations and values of the community.
