WHAT:
On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, District 3 City Commissioner Roger Chapin will join the City of Orlando’s Families, Parks and Recreation Department to officially open the newly renovated playground at Signal Hill Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
As the first of 11 park improvements planned across the city over the next two years, this project highlights Orlando’s continued investment in neighborhood parks and its commitment to creating vibrant, welcoming spaces where families and children can gather and play.
Signal Hill Park has undergone a complete transformation and now features:
- Brand-new play areas designed specifically for two age groups (2–5 and 5–12)
- Modern playground equipment
- Shaded seating areas and new benches for families
While the park was under construction, Rolling Hills Elementary School generously granted temporary access to its school and basketball courts. As a token of appreciation, students from Rolling Hills Elementary School have been invited to be the first to experience the new playground. Students will join Commissioner Chapin for the ribbon cutting and will be the first to test out the new equipment.
