Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to Rename Harbor Park as Mayor Glenda Hood Park

WHAT: 
On Friday, December 5, 2025, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join community members to officially rename Harbor Park along Lake Baldwin as Mayor Glenda Hood Park. 

The renaming honors former Orlando Mayor Glenda E. Hood, who served from 1992 to 2003 and was the first woman elected to the role. Her legacy of visionary leadership, thoughtful urban planning and neighborhood-centered investment includes the transformation of the former Naval Training Center into what is now Baldwin Park, one of the city’s most successful examples of master-planned community redevelopment. 

This event recognizes Mayor Hood’s lasting contributions to the city and her role in shaping neighborhoods that continue to enrich Orlando’s quality of life.
